Kensington Painters & Decorators
Exterior painting
A considered specification for painted façades, exterior timber and metalwork. Condition and access come before colour.

Preparation before the finish
Inspect failing coatings, open joints and water staining before planning decoration. Repairs to the underlying material may need a separate trade. Unpainted brick and decorative stone should not be treated as surfaces to paint by default.
Choosing the specification
The coating must suit the existing surface and exposure. Weather, drying conditions and access equipment affect the programme. For a listed building or conservation area, establish the property-specific requirements before agreeing any change.
Define the work in your quotation
The quotation should identify the surfaces, preparation, products, access and exclusions. Share photographs and the property address so that we can discuss the condition and arrange the next step.
- Each elevation and material
- Repairs excluded or separately allowed for
- Access equipment and protection
- Colour and product specification
