Kensington Painters & Decorators

Our approach

A good finish starts well before the paint is opened. The work needs a clear scope, suitable preparation and a practical sequence.

01 — Describe the work

Send the address, photographs and a room or surface schedule. Tell us about access, occupancy and any building requirements. We can discuss the condition and arrange the next step.

02 — Agree the specification

Set out preparation, repairs, products, colours and protection in the quotation. Confirm any allowances, exclusions, programme and payment arrangements. Changes should be agreed before additional work proceeds.

03 — Prepare and decorate

The agreed method should reflect the substrate and the product instructions. Protect retained surfaces, plan around occupied rooms and allow for the required drying conditions. Raise unexpected defects for assessment before covering them.

  • Identify repairs, new plaster and joinery installation that must finish before decoration.
  • Agree when rooms will be clear and which spaces need to remain usable.
  • Allow for the selected coating’s drying requirements and suitable exterior conditions.
  • Confirm dates against the agreed scope and availability; a room count cannot establish a completion date.

04 — Review and aftercare

Review the work against the agreed scope and record any remaining items. Keep the colour and product references for maintenance. Follow the manufacturer’s curing and cleaning guidance, and contact us with photographs if a concern arises.
