Quotations
The cost follows the scope. A useful quotation describes the condition, preparation and finish, rather than relying on a room rate.
Discuss your projectWhat affects the work
Surface condition, ceiling height, detailed joinery, access and the selected materials all affect the scope. Wallpaper removal or failed coatings may reveal repairs that cannot be assessed from a photograph alone.
What to look for in a quotation
Ask for a room or surface schedule, the preparation standard, named materials and the treatment of repairs. Check whether access equipment, protection and waste handling are included. Exclusions and provisional items should be explicit.
Before accepting
Agree the programme, payment arrangements and how additional work is authorised. Confirm colour samples and responsibilities for supplying materials. Contact us with your property details to discuss a quotation.
Compare the same preparation and finish
A quotation for sound surfaces is different from one including stripping, repairs and lining. Check that both quotations identify the same walls, ceilings, woodwork and wallpaper areas, with responsibility for supplying materials stated. Confirm how defects found after stripping will be assessed and additional work authorised. Keep the selected product, colour and sheen with the scope so a change of finish can be reviewed against the original allowance.
